2008 BIG CANOE TOUR OF HOMES

2008 Big Canoe Tour of Homes Welcomes Visitors!

Preparation for the 2008 Big Canoe Tour of Homes is in full swing.  This very successful annual event, enjoying its 20th anniversary, is sponsored by the Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Guild.  It has raised nearly $700,000 to date.  All of the money raised is donated to various deserving charities in Pickens and Dawson Counties  This year’s special event is anticipated to be even better than in past years.

The tour price is $15 per person.  Friday, May 2nd is designated as Big Canoe Resident’s Day.  The ticket tent will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  On Visitors Day, Saturday May 3rd, the ticket tent will reopen at 8:30 a.m.  FREE parking is available on Saturday at the Wildcat Pavilion, near the North Gate entrance to the Big Canoe Community.  Shuttle buses will depart from the parking area to the Marketplace at Broyles Center.  After obtaining tour tickets, buses will take visitors to the four fabulous homes featured on this year’s tour.  Shuttle bus tours will leave every 15 minutes through 2:15 p.m.. from the Marketplace.

Be sure to allow time to enjoy feasting upon some delectable foods and beverages, as well as visiting the Marketplace. There you will find the Collector’s Corner overflowing with unique items, available for sale, including furniture, artwork, jewelry, antiques, linens and much more. You will also want to shop at the Book Nook containing a wide variety of books, CD’s, audio and video tapes.

We sincerely hope you are able to attend the 2008 Tour of Homes and enjoy a day in  the idyllic, pristine and peaceful Big Canoe Community.
